Bali
Anyer Beaches

Anyer Beach is located near the Ujung Kulon National Park and Mt. Krakatau. The beach is officially part of the Banten Province, an island off Java. Sunset is very pretty in Anyer. There are a lot of beaches within the area and it is home to the world famous Putri Duyung Resort.

Baliem Valley

The Baliem Valley is where you'll find Indonesia's famed Dani warriors. This is a good place to hike, if your type of vacation is trekking and scaling the mountains. Just don't be surprised if a friendly Dani or Yali tribesman greets you along the way.

Bintan Islands

The Bintan Islands is part of Indonesia's Riau Islands. The spot is located just below Singapore and you'll find fantastic beaches right there. The island also has a golf course, several island ports, and offers lots of sea adventures. Don't forget to do some island hopping while you're there.

Borobudur

Indonesia is a relatively Buddhist nation. And as such, it has lots of Buddhist temples to explore. One of which is the Borobudur temple complex located in Central Java. The temple is more like a museum, wherein you would learn a lot about Indonesia's culture and historical past. Borobudur is the biggest temple in Indonesia that is wholly dedicated to Buddha. It is also the country's most visited tourist spot.

Bunaken

Do you love diving and exploring the undersea world? Then you've got to drop by Bunaken while in Indonesia. This is the place where people enjoy scuba diving and other water-related fun. Swimming, boating, and island hopping are just some of the adventures you can enjoy while on Bunaken.

Lake Toba

Lake Toba is a huge volcanic lake. It covers a total area of 1707 square kilometers and is bigger than the whole country of Singapore. It also has an island right on its center. Lake Toba is Indonesia's premier hot spring. If you want a totally relaxing swim over warm waters, Lake Toba is the place to go. The lake is just across Pangururan.

Mount Bromo

Do you want to see a real live volcano? Then visit Mount Bromo at the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park. It is located right on the Eastern part of Java. Some say that Mount Bromo is the scariest tourist spot in Indonesia. It isn't the tallest volcano in Indonesia, but it's scary because there's always some white sulphur coming out of its crates.

How to Get There

You get to Indonesia through the country's capital, Jakarta. Several hours' flight is all you have to invest and you should be in a country where its culture is its very trademark. Indonesia's national carrier is Garuda. It is also possible to get to Indonesia by sea, although you've got to come from either Sumatra or Malaysia to take that route.

Traveling Around

There are several ways to travel around Indonesia and its islands. There are lots of taxis around and you can certainly use them to get to your destination. However, the road conditions of Indonesia is good enough so it could be better to hire a car if you feel like driving on your own. If you're not confident enough to drive on a foreign country, you can just hire a driver for your hired car. You can also ride the public transports if that's fine with you. However, if you're on an island you need to take the ferry to get some place else.
